Emilie Knapp lived next door to Judy Gibbs and me during our senior year in what was known at the time as “The Pit” in Center Gould. Emilie had an unusual room because she had a ham radio set which she used to communicate with her family in Maryland. Many years later in 1996, Emilie and I ran into each other at NMH school registration for incoming new students. My son, Alex Dann, was starting as a sophomore and Emilie’s son, Christopher, was starting as a freshman. We were both delighted that our sons were starting their NMH years. Happily, both boys went on to have very successful years at NMH.
